It all started when I made Blue in the fall of 2023. I felt that I had created something special, and that feeling urged me to explore it further. What followed was a year-long journey of soul-searching and hard work, which eventually led to Melancholiphoria, a seven-track EP.
Blue felt intensely melancholic but, at the same time, carried an elevated sense of bliss, a reassurance that everything will be okay in the end. I realized that this duality exists in all of my music and reflects who I am. I’ve always been intrigued by “sad” music for its depth and nuance, but I also resonate strongly with the intense euphoria found in the trance-like sounds of progressive house. With this EP, I wanted to show how intertwined emotions can be, how melancholy and euphoria can exist in each other, and how, together, they create a somber yet safe feeling, a bliss in insignificance, or bittersweet existentialism.
In the same spirit as Qrion’s slogan “I miss crying in the club” or the well-known Spotify playlists “crying on the dancefloor,” I believe there’s space for emotionally available dance music.

The EP features incredibly talented collaborators, especially Moon Kyoo and Jordin Post, whose sonic auras im lucky to have radiating the EP.
Moon writes:
“We met on Reddit years ago, and I’ve always felt that we share similar visions in our own unique ways. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see our years of friendship lead to something meaningful—tracks that really bring together both of our styles. I hope these two pieces resonate with others in a genuine, emotional way.”
Jordin and I first crossed paths at ADE 2023. With an impressive 10+ year career behind him under the name Juventa, it’s surreal to think that I listened to his music when I was 14, discovering electro house and downloading FL Studio for the first time. A real full-circle moment.
Other collaborators include Noana, my partner on Core Impulse, whose studio I make a point to visit whenever I'm back in Helsinki; Mats Westbroek, whose powerful vocals brought Sheltered to life; and Artemis Orion, who elevated Motions with her ethereal voice.
